3. Define and Approve Project Type

Select the appropriate project type, which determines the steps and deliverables for your project.

Before you Begin

You must be a member of the task Assignment group or the Assigned to user to perform these steps.

Procedure

  1. Open the Define Project Type task and Click Start Work to move the task to the In Progress state.
  2. Select a Project Type. The Applicable Steps field will display the steps that are associated with the selected type.  The Default type includes all possible steps and deliverables required for the project.  Your system may have other types configured with fewer or alternative steps that may be more appropriate for your current project.
  3. Click Complete.

Approving the Project Type Selection

Once the Define Project Type task is completed, an approval task for it will open.  For guidance on how to approve or reject the task, see [[Approve or Reject a Task]].

When the Approve Project Type task is Closed – Complete, the ALM Project Event Tasks list will update to include the Applicable Steps for the selected type.
