4. Change Management

Draft and approve a change plan that describes the change related to the current ALM Project.

Before you begin

You must be a member of the relevant Event or Task Assignment group or the Assigned to user to perform these steps.

Procedure

  1. Open the Change Planning Event associated with the ALM Project.
  2. If the Change Planning Event is in Triage, click Review Event Plan to move it to the Planning state. Ensure each step has an Assignment group and/or Assigned to user and click Start Work to move the Change Management Event to the In Progress state.
  3. Open the Draft Change Plan task and click Start Workto move the task to the In Progress state.
  4. Complete the fields on the task form. Provide sufficient detail for each so that approvers of the Change Plan can make an informed decision.
  5. Click Complete Checklist. Respond to the questions and click Save when finished.
  6. Click Complete.

Approving the Change Plan

Once the Draft Change Plan task is completed, approval tasks for it will open.  For guidance on how to approve or reject the task, see [[Approve or Reject a Task]].

Change Management Event Closure

When the final Approval task is Closed – Complete, the Change Management Event state changes to Closed.
