12. Test Deviation Management

Document, resolve and approve test deviations that may occur in an ALM Project.

Before you begin

You must be a member of the relevant Event or Task Assignment group or the Assigned to user to perform these steps.

Procedure

  1. Open the Document Testing Incident task in the ALM Incident event and click Start Work.
  2. The Test Failure Details will be pre-populated from the failed test step(s). Add Root Cause Analysis, Resolution, and Unit Test Evidence.
  3. Click Complete.

Approving the Deviation

Once the Document Testing Incident task is completed, an approval task for it will open. For guidance on how to approve or reject the task, see Approve or Reject a Task.

Test Deviation Event Closure

When the Approval task is Closed – Complete, the Test Deviation (ALM Incident) Event state changes to Closed.  The event will be linked to the relevant test record in the ALM Project.
